We have come a long way since our first Thanksgiving! Just imagine getting up on a cold November morning to go hunt and kill your holiday dinner. Brrrrr. I'm thankful to be able to drive to a store and pick up my nice plucked and cleaned turkey! Maybe yours will be already cooked! Progress is good... in all things!
Progress from yesteryear was rather slow... today, things move at a very rapid pace. For instance, I bought a computer tablet for my husband at the end of November last year, and the following month a better version of it came out. We buy the latest sneakers for our kids, and a few weeks later, they're asking for a newer style. You name it: food gets better, houses get better, cars get better, technology gets better, even clothes... ladies, aren't you glad we're not cooking our holiday dinner in the outfit pictured above? Progression has brought amazing things to our lives and has made life a lot easier. Who would've thought 10 years ago I could talk to my computer with Speech Recognition Software to write this blog? The Dragon today is so much more amazing from that of a few short years ago.
Without progress, we would still be going "over the river and through the woods" via horse and buggy! (Imagine how cold that was!) Life without television, mobile phones, airplanes to get across country, apps, and tiny devices that blare out beautiful music... things might be a little boring.
This Thanksgiving I'm THANKFUL for progression! It's imperative to a better life!
Happy Thanksgiving!
