Dr. Joseph Gomez is definately NOT your average doctor! He is audacious, resourceful and passionate about everything he does. As a cardiologist for Geneva General Cardiology Associates, he is what makes things "tick"! So when Dr. Gomez called us to see if he could use the Dragon Recorder Application with his Dragon Software, we knew we were about to embark on an meaningful adventure!
When I arrived at his Finger Lakes Health office, Dr. Gomez already had the Dragon Recorder application loaded on his iPhone. He did a few short dictations, plugged the phone into his laptop and watched as the .wav files automatically appeared in iTunes. I then instructed him how utilize the Transcribe option within Dragon Medical and his voice profile. Simple. Speaking instead of typing is so easy!
Dr. Gomez is now even more efficient as he uses the Dragon Recorder at his remote office or anytime he does not have his computer for dictating directly into Dragon. As he puts it, "It's working great!" Watching him use it made me realize that any person needing to record important information in a moment's notice could use this application. Claims adjusters, emergency medical technicians, forensic scientists, authors, song writers and more could collect vital information with great accuracy. For someone who cares about his patients, this was just another must have for Dr. Gomez.
The Dragon Recorder on the iPhone works the same as a digital recorder, except that it makes converting and transcribing even easier. If you are already using Dragon Software, this free application will be an essential tool for you as well!
